Bucs hire 2 female assistant coaches

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired Maral Javadifar and Lori Locust as assistant coaches, becoming the first NFL team with two female coaches on their staff.

Locust and Javadifar are also the first full-time female coaches in franchise history.

Locust will be an assistant defensive line coach and Javadifar an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Jets land QB Siemian to back up Darnold

NEW YORK (AP) Trevor Siemian has joined the Jets to be Sam Darnold's backup.

The veteran quarterback signed a one-year deal Wednesday with New York , which was in the market for an experienced QB while Josh McCown mulls his playing future.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Safety Clayton Geathers has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

The team made the announcement on Wednesday.

Bears re-sign P O'Donnell to 2-year deal

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) The Chicago Bears say they have re-signed veteran punter Pat O'Donnell to a two-year contract.

O'Donnell has spent all five of his seasons with Chicago and is the franchise's leader with a 44.9-yard career gross average. O'Donnell averaged 45 yards per punt last season and tied a career high with 28 punts inside the 20.

Ex-Broncos backup QB Kelly pleads guilty

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) Former Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree criminal trespassing for entering a couple's suburban Denver home uninvited.

After Kelly entered the plea Wednesday in Arapahoe County District Court, he was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and 50 hours of community service.

Vikings sign ex-Titan G Kline

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Vikings have signed former Tennessee right guard Josh Kline for their thin offensive line.

Kline's three-year deal, valued at $15.75 million, was done Wednesday as Kline finished a visit to team headquarters. Kline's streak of 46 games started is the longest active run among all NFL guards. He played three seasons with the Titans.

Rams sign 6-time Pro Bowl LB Matthews

LOS ANGELES (AP) Linebacker Clay Matthews agreed to a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, returning to his native Southern California after a decade with the Green Bay Packers.

The 32-year-old Matthews set the Packers franchise record with 83+ sacks over his 10 seasons in Green Bay. The former USC star earned six Pro Bowl selections and won a Super Bowl ring with the Packers, although his 3+ sacks last season were a career low.

Cowboys sign ex-Packer Cobb for 1 year

FRISCO, Texas (AP) The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free-agent receiver Randall Cobb.

Cobb spent the first eight years of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, though he was limited to nine games last season because of a hamstring injury and a concussion.

Patriots owner Kraft offered plea deal

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) Florida prosecutors have offered a plea deal to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and other men charged with paying for illicit sex at a massage parlor.

The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office confirmed Tuesday it has offered Kraft and 24 other men charged with soliciting prostitution the standard diversion program offered to first-time offenders. The men must concede they would be found guilty, perform 100 hours community service and attend a class on prostitution's dangers and how it perpetuates human trafficking, spokesman Mike Edmondson said. They must also be tested for sexually transmitted diseases and pay a court fee of $5,000 per count. Kraft, 77, was charged with two counts last month.

Burfict joins Raiders day after release

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) The Oakland Raiders have signed linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

The move Tuesday puts Burfict on a new team one day after he was released by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent his first seven seasons. During his time with Cincinnati, Burfict was repeatedly suspended by the NFL for violent hits and for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancers.
